PICKR DOCUMENTATION

Pickr is a smart warehouse picking app for Linnworks. It turns your open orders into walk-path optimised pick lists with barcode scanning, real-time cross-device sync, team management, stock issue reporting, and a live analytics dashboard. Available on web, iOS, and Android.

Quick Start: Install Pickr from the Linnworks App Store, create your account, configure your warehouse zones, invite your team, and start picking. The entire setup takes under 5 minutes.

Installation

Step 1: Authorise Pickr in Linnworks

Navigate to the Linnworks App Store and click Authorise. Pickr will request the following permissions from your Linnworks account:

PermissionPurpose
Read open ordersDisplay orders in the pick list
Read stock locationsShow warehouse locations and bin codes
Read item images & barcodesDisplay product images and enable barcode scanning
Tag ordersMark orders as picked in Linnworks
Set pick list printed flagPrevent double-picking across devices
Write extended propertiesRecord PickedBy, PickedAt, PickedVia on orders
Note: Pickr never modifies your inventory levels, pricing, or financial data. It only reads orders and writes picking metadata back to completed orders.

Step 2: Create Your Account

After authorising, you'll be redirected to create your Pickr admin account. Enter your:

Your account is now active with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required.

First Login

Go to app.getpickr.app and sign in with your email and password. As an admin, you'll have access to:

On first login, you'll be asked to select your warehouse location from the list of stock locations imported from Linnworks.

Install on Picker Devices

Share app.getpickr.app with your warehouse team. Pickr runs on any device:

PlatformHow to Install
iPhone / iPadOpen in Safari → Tap Share → Add to Home Screen. Also available on the App Store.
AndroidOpen in Chrome → Tap menu → Install App. Also available on Google Play.
DesktopUse any modern browser at app.getpickr.app

The PWA (Progressive Web App) version works offline and receives automatic updates. Native app store versions are also available.

Linnworks Connection

Your Linnworks connection is configured automatically during installation. To check the connection status, go to Settings → Linnworks Connection.

The status indicator shows:

Pickr reads your stock locations from Linnworks and displays them as selectable warehouses. Orders are fetched from all open orders in the selected location.

Warehouse Zones

How Zones Work

Zones group pick list items by the prefix of their bin/rack location code in Linnworks. For example:

Bin CodePrefixZone
AB-01-03ABBasement
AB-02-12ABBasement
H-04-01HHanging Room
K-01-05KKitting Area

Pickr reads each item's bin location from Linnworks and groups them into your defined zones. Pickers can filter the pick list by zone using the zone pills at the top of the screen.

Configuring Zones

Go to Settings → Warehouse Zones. Select the warehouse location, then for each zone:

  1. Click + Add Zone
  2. Choose an emoji icon (6 categories available)
  3. Enter a name (e.g. "Basement", "Hanging Room")
  4. Enter a bin prefix — 1 to 3 characters matching the start of your bin codes

Zones are per-warehouse, so different locations can have different zone configurations. Items whose bin code doesn't match any zone prefix appear ungrouped at the end of the pick list.

Hidden Locations

If you have stock locations in Linnworks that shouldn't appear in Pickr (e.g. returns, quarantine, damaged goods), hide them in Settings → Warehouse Locations. Hidden locations won't appear in the picker's location selection screen.

Picking Defaults

Configure default picking behaviour in Settings → Picking Defaults:

SettingOptionsDescription
Sort ModeBin Location / SKUBin location uses walk-path optimisation. SKU sorts alphabetically.
View ModeFull / CompactFull shows product name + image. Compact shows SKU only.

Roles

Pickr has two user roles:

RoleAccess
AdminFull access: picking, settings, zones, analytics, team management, billing, stock issues
PickerPicking, reporting stock issues, viewing own statistics. Cannot access settings, team, or billing.

Inviting Users

From the Team page:

  1. Click + Invite User
  2. Enter their name, email, and role (Admin or Picker)
  3. They'll receive an invite link to set their password

Once set up, they can log in at app.getpickr.app from any device. Sessions persist across visits — users only need to sign in once per device.

Zone Assignment

Admins can restrict pickers to specific warehouse zones. In the Team page, edit a user and enter comma-separated zone prefixes in the Assigned Zones field:

AA,AB,AC

That picker will only see items in their assigned zones. Leave the field empty to allow access to all zones. This is useful for large warehouses where pickers work in dedicated areas.

Theme

Each user can switch between dark mode and light mode in Settings → Account → Appearance. The preference is saved per-user and syncs across all their devices.

The Pick List

After selecting your warehouse location, the pick list shows all open Linnworks orders. Items are aggregated by SKU across all orders — if the same item appears in 5 orders, you'll see it once with a quantity of 5. This minimises walking by letting you pick all of one SKU at once.

Each pick list item displays:

Walk-Path Optimisation

When sort mode is set to Bin Location (the default), Pickr sorts items using a zigzag walk pattern:

This means pickers walk down one aisle and up the next, never backtracking. This pattern can reduce walking time by up to 40% compared to a simple sort.

The walk-path parser recognises common bin code formats including AA01, A-01-03, AB01-12, and similar patterns.

Scanning

Pickr supports two scanning methods:

Hardware Barcode Scanner

Connect a USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner to the device. It works as a keyboard wedge — scanned barcodes are automatically entered into the search field and the matching item is found instantly.

Camera Scanning

Tap the camera icon in the scan bar at the top of the pick list. Point your phone or tablet camera at the barcode — it's detected automatically using the device's built-in camera. The camera scanner supports EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128, and other common barcode formats.

Multi-Quantity Picking

When you pick an item with more than 1 unit remaining, a quantity popup appears with options:

For items with only 1 remaining, the PICK button picks immediately without showing the popup.

Picking Items

Tap the PICK button to mark an item as picked. The quantity counter updates, a confirmation sound plays, and on mobile devices you'll feel a haptic vibration.

Changes sync across all devices within 30 seconds. When one picker marks an item, all other pickers see the update. This prevents double-picking when multiple people work simultaneously.

Fully picked items move to the bottom of the list with a green "Done" badge.

Undo

Tap the ← Undo button next to any item to reverse the last pick. The quantity counter decreases and the item returns to its unpicked state. Every undo is logged in the audit trail with the user, SKU, and timestamp.

Completing Orders

When all items across all orders are fully picked, a "Complete All Picked" button appears at the bottom of the screen. Tapping it triggers the following actions for each completed order:

  1. ChangeOrderTag — tags the order in Linnworks
  2. SetPickListPrinted — sets the pick list printed flag
  3. Extended Properties written to the order:
    • PickedBy — name of the picker
    • PickedAt — date and time of completion
    • PickedVia — "Pickr"
  4. Audit log entry recorded with full details
Tip: Create a Linnworks open order view that filters out orders where Pick List Printed = True. This way, completed orders disappear from future pick lists automatically, preventing double-picking across shifts.

Sound & Haptic Feedback

Pickr plays distinct audio cues so pickers can stay focused without constantly checking the screen:

ActionSound
Pick successDouble ascending beep
Item fully pickedTriple ascending beep
Error / not foundLow double beep
Already doneShort single beep
UndoDescending beep
Order completeCelebration chord
New orders arrivedTriple notification chime

On mobile devices, haptic vibration accompanies each sound. All sounds are generated using the Web Audio API — no external audio files are needed.

Reporting Stock Issues

While picking, pickers can report problems by tapping the ⚠ warning icon on any item. Available issue types:

Issue TypeIconDescription
Damaged💥Item is broken, torn, or unusable
MissingItem not found on the shelf
Wrong Location📍Item is in a different bin than expected
Wrong Quantity🔢Shelf quantity doesn't match Linnworks
Wrong Item⚠️A different item is in this location

Each report logs the SKU, bin location, quantity, picker name, timestamp, and optional notes.
